General Conference 10/7/07

In years past I have tried to iron on Saturday during conference sessions. This conference I got my ironing done. I have enough clothes for a month if I'm careful.
Conference was wonderful. I'll only make a couple of comments. Pres. Hinckley looked wonderful. He joked about us singing the same songs all the time but expecting new talks every time. He said he has talked over 200 times in conference, it is hard to come up with new stuff to talk about. He said the gospel is like the music we need to hear it over and over. So he talked about the restoration of the Gospel and bore his testimoney of Joseph Smith. Inspiring.

Bishop Edgely from the Presiding Bishopic talked about pulling together as a Ward. His comments included: We Draw closer together when we endure trials together. What happens to one happens to all.

Pres. Eyring shared a 'simple' way to keep a journal. He said many years ago he was prompted to write down a couple of sentences every day about how he saw the hand of the Lord in his life that day. He said that little act could lead to other things but would at least help us to think of God and his goodness once a day. He also said we seem to forget him in prosperity AND in despair. The key to remembering is the Holy Ghost.

We love you all very much.
